Wow, that sounds like the best cat ever.

That's because he is. Only Dinah even comes close.

Who's Dinah?

[madcuriosity]

Dinah is my pet cat back home. She's a beautiful black cat with two kittens and incredibly clever. She can even play chess and is trying to teach it to her kittens.

[firstbeliever]

Really? I've never seen a cat play chess before. She sounds better than I am at the game.

[madcuriosity]

I could teach you how to play chess, if you like?

[firstbeliever]

Yeah? I'd like to learn. I told Odin I'd get better so I could play with him. And Mimir plays too.

[madcuriosity]

I know, I had a game with Mimir. I lost every time but I quite enjoyed the game!

[firstbeliever]

A full game? I tried his chess challenge and lost several times.

[madcuriosity]

I won his challenge quite easily, actually! There were several solutions. But we have to teach you the basics if you're going to last more than three moves against him! My highest count is 25 moves.

[firstbeliever]

Really? You must be really good. [He grins sheepishly.] Yeah, I only know a little bit about chess.

Well, that or he didn't soundly trump me when given the chance. But, in either case, I don't mind teaching you at all.

Thanks! Should I come to your house for lessons or should we meet at the ice rink?

[madcuriosity]

Well, I'll come to your house. If we play at mine, you might have to face the Doctors, they're quite fond of chess you know. But best to save those matches for when you're a stronger player.

Are they? The one I know doesn't seem like he'd be the kind to play chess.

[madcuriosity]

Which one? And no, they all play it, and they're all incredible at it.

[firstbeliever]

The one with the bowtie. He seems more like he'd play...Candyland or something.

[madcuriosity]

Candyland? What sort of game is that? And my Doctor, well, he wouldn't play it, maybe if it were Jammie dodgerland.

[firstbeliever]

It's a board game where you race to the end by drawing cards.

[madcuriosity]

Do you win candy?

[firstbeliever]

No but we can always make it so the winner gets candy.

[madcuriosity]

But then why is it called Candyland?

[firstbeliever]

Because the game board is designed so that it looks like it's a land of candy. There's things like Lollipop Woods, Peanut Brittle House and all of the characters are candy-based too like King Candy, Gramma Nutt.

You'll have to teach me how to play, sounds like fun! Maybe Jack and Sandy will play! Do you think the Tooth Fairy would want to play considering it has to do with candy?

It is! And I'll bring over some other games too to teach you. [Jamie laughs.] She'd probably make us brush our teeth and floss just from looking at the game but I bet she'd play.
